Overview

We will review the definitions and diagnositc features of Parkinson's disease.  We will them review different medical treatment approaches and their relative advantages and disadvantages.

Objectives

  1. Describe the clinical manifestations of Parkinson's Disease
  • How do I recognize PD in the office?
  1. Be able to distinguish it from common and uncommon mimics of Parkinson's disease
  • What features may I see that should make me more concerned and seek more urgent consultation?
  1. Initiate appropriate treatment for Parkinson's Disease
  • What are the features and expected side effects of treatment?
